This test clearly indicates
that the durability of the series type drogue should be adequate for
prolonged operation under severe storm conditions.
The test sample was intended
for use in drag tests, not durability tests. The cones were rather crudely
sewn and it is both surprising and encouraging that they did so well.
It probably would be a good
idea to sew a small reinforcing tape along the forward edge of each cone.
This would reduce the possibility of tearing the material when retrieving
the drogue over the transom of the boat.
